VISA TO RUSSIA
The so-called visa support or official invitation has to be submitted to the Russian consular agency in your country, so that a visa could be issued for you. RussianVisaPro would be happy to render visa support for a business or tourist visa for you. The fastest and most convenient way to get a visa support is to fill in our on-line application form.
You can travel everywhere in Russia and stay there as long as you wish, provided it is not a restricted stay territory, e.g. a military base. So, preparing your itinerary, please make sure the territories you are planning to visit are not restricted.
Tourist visa support can be granted to you by most agencies at any time, and there are no limitations concerning the periods. As for tourist visa you can not apply at the Russian Embassy or Consulate earlier than 90 days. Both business visa support and business visa application processing cannot be started earlier than 45 days prior to the date of entry. This limitation is set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that handles the processing. If you choose to apply on-line on RussianVisaPro site, you can do it earlier than the above indicated 45-day period. The processing will be initiated automatically 45 days before business visa start date you indicate in your application, if the order has been paid.
The start and expiry dates in a visa simply indicate the time period within which you are allowed to enter and leave the country. The actual arrival and departure dates should not necessarily coincide with the dates indicated in the visa given that they are within the specified time span. When applying for a visa it is generally recommended to indicate the expiry date one or two days after you plan to leave Russia. Thus you will not have to worry if your flight is delayed or there is a sudden change of plans.
Visitors having dual citizenship do not have to get a visa. In this case they have to enter and leave Russia with their Russian passport. They may not extend or exchange their Russian passport during their stay in Russia. So, it is advisable to make sure that the Russian passport is valid for the whole period of the stay.
When traveling in Russia, you must have the original documents with you. But in case you lose your passport or any other unforeseen situation occurs, it is advisable to make your passport photocopy, essentially the photo and visa pages. Make sure you bring it to Russia with you, but keep it separately from your other papers.
Having received the visa, please make sure that all the information concerning your passport and travel details (numbers, names, dates) is filled in correctly. If it is not, you should have the Russian consulate or your visa agent make all the required adjustments before you leave for Russia. No corrections can be made in your papers after you have arrived in the RF.
A visa application may not be considered by the consulate if it is filled out incorrectly. It is essential that information in your application form match the data in your invitation. Visa application forms may vary in terms of actual wording and order of the questions depending on the country, but the required information is basically the same. Hereafter you will find the proper answers to the questions that normally included in application forms. When applying for a tourist visa you should make sure that the following fields in your application form contain the same information as your invitation: entry and departure dates, number of entries, itinerary, tourist group reference number and name, Russian stay address. Please find relevant information in your invitation and copy it into the corresponding fields in the application form. When applying for a business visa you should make sure that the following fields in your application form contain the same information as your invitation: entry and departure dates, number of entries, itinerary, Russian stay address. The field “Institution to be visited” should contain the name of the organization that issued the invitation. Please find relevant information in your invitation and copy it into the corresponding fields in the application form.
An invitation is not a VISA and it does not give you the permit to enter the country. An invitation or, in other words, visa support is needed to initiate the visa-issuing process. Having obtained an invitation, you need to submit it together with other documents to the Russian consular agency in your country, which will issue an actual visa for you. You can learn about the actual visa cost and processing time as well as check the list of the documents required for visa application at your local Russian consular agency.
Please note that visa support and hotel booking confirmation are different documents and should not be mixed. Whether a hotel is authorized to render invitations, should be checked individually in each case. In the majority of situations a visa support issued by a duly registered tour operator is required. RussianVisaPro would be happy to render visa support for a business or tourist visa for you. Tourist visa invitations are normally issued in one business day, or the same day if it is urgent. No booking confirmation is required in case of business visa application.
Visitors to Russia from most countries need to obtain a visa. Russia has recently signed agreements with a number of Asian, South American and European countries establishing visa-free travel conditions. To make sure if visaless regime is valid in your situation check this information in your country’s Russian consulate.
